Since 2011, the DeMuro Awards have promoted historic preservation and reuse in Oregon by spotlighting and celebrating outstanding rehabilitation projects. The award program honors the legacy of Art DeMuro, who played a vital role in many important historic properties in Portland. After his passing, Restore Oregon created the DeMuro Award program to ensure that his passion for preservation and community lives on.

Trick or Treats 2024
This final October evening was filled with candy, contest prizes and more. The Albany Cumberland was open for costumed kids to enjoy the treats and learn more about this historic building renovated from Albany's past.
A Time for Thanksgiving
The Albany Cumberland Community Events Center has came a long way in 2024, from getting a fresh coat, to getting placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Thanks to our volunteers and working Board, we have logged over 2400 hours, and just under 5 tons of debris from demolition, having only 25 volunteers to get to this monumental point, plus the many hours of research into the history of the Albany Cumberland Church, placing us on the National Register of Historic Places.
We also want to thank all of our sponsors for the valuable items donated to help refurbish the Cumberland Community Events Center building.
We definitely want to thank all of our donors for the many dollars given to restore walls, windows, and the front door.
Albany Cumberland Community Events Center has received two grants from Oregon Cultural Trust.
It's because of you that we are diligently working to preserve the Albany Cumberland Community Events Center, for your enjoyment, for many years to come. Thank YOU!
