Music on the Farm
Were you there? An end of summer picnic was held at Ben and Eileen Atchley's farm. The Cumberland team prepared a barbecue lunch and a country style welcome to show appreciation to donors and friends.
Tall Tribute, The Dominy Family and the Hub City Crows each took the spotlight during the event. Lawn games were also enjoyed by guests. Freshly churned ice cream made by Orville Bontreger's Ice Cream Tractor was a wonderful ending to a relaxing afternoon .
School Supplies donated by Cumberland Board and Albany Kiwanis
Waverly is our neighborhood school. Board member Jody Kruse reports that Albany Kiwanis joined Cumberland board members to donate school supplies and clothing items to Waverly Elementary. In the past three years, the team has contributed over $3,000 out of personal resources.
Supplies first go to FACT, a district program that assists our lowest income impacted children. A FACT benefactor matches $1 for every pound of donated school supplies. This year, our combined donation earned FACT $125 from that supporter. We are delighted to help kids have the things they need for a successful year!
