announcement of "Mafia Wedding" murder mystery dinner

For Your Calendar

Plans are underway for Cumberland's annual Murder Mystery Dinner.

  • If you joined us other years, you have a good idea of how much fun the evening is!

You and your tablemates will uncover clues to discover "who dun it".  Be prepared to use your noodle to grill suspects, compare clues and nail the criminal(s?).

That evening you'll also get an exciting update about what's happening INSIDE the historic Cumberland building.

Save the date: April 10, 2027. Tickets go on sale January 2.

Meet Your Board

Cumberland board members look at plans

Norma and Hunter get some pointers from board member, Jody Kruse

Introducing Cumberland 's newest board members:

Hunter Hawthorne got involved with the Cumberland because he was “looking for meaningful ways to become more involved in the community.” He shared that serving on the board is “an opportunity to contribute to something I care deeply about: creating spaces where people can come together, build relationships, and feel connected to their community.” He also loves history so the opportunity to help preserve and bring to life a historic structure like the Cumberland is particularly exciting.

Norma Dawson has an extensive community service record including helping at Love INC of Linn County, volunteering with Hub City Little Houses project, and years of involvement with her church. She has volunteered at the Cumberland for several events. Last summer she organized our Yard Sale.

She sees restoring the Cumberland as an “opportunity to extend the borders of this preservation effort and to keep Albany history alive in a wider area.”

We agree with Norma's assessment, "beyond historic preservation, the end goal is to connect the past with the future.”

Will you join us as we work to open this “facility for community programs in an often under-served area and help foster a growing community spirit and pride”?*

*Well said, Norma!

Did you know: If you shop at Fred Meyer you can donate to the Cumberland just by linking your shopper's card? The store passes a small percent of each registered purchase to designated nonprofits. Last year, Cumberland received about $140. More participants will equal bigger donations! Your little bit can make a difference!
